The Function and Value of Dust Collection Systems

For any manufacturing or construction business, Dust Collection Systems are a necessity. Not only is dust difficult to clean up after a job, but it is also unhealthy, and can cause long-term health problems. Dust Collection Systems provide a way to get rid of excess amounts of dust, which can cut down on clean up time, and insure the air is safe and healthy to breathe.

Dust Collection Systems have many complicated parts. However, the end goal of the system is simple: remove dust from the air. Dust Collection Systems accomplish this by using a vacuum to suck air into the machine. Once the air is in the machine, airborne particles are separated from larger particles. These Dust Collection Systems prevent the dust from settling, and constantly run air through the machine. There are many different types of systems, each with their own purpose. Because of this, it’s important you realize what type of system will help you the best, and choose that system.

As far as collection systems go, one of the most common is the inertial separator. This type of collection system uses centrifugal force and gravity to separate dust from air. This type of system has a few parts that helps it accomplish the task of removing dust. When air is first sucked into inertial Dust Collection Systems, the dust is taken to a settling chamber. In this chamber, heavier particles are separated from lighter particles. Next, the air is taken into a baffle chamber. In this chamber, the dust is removed from the air. The dust is stored in a hopper or other storage unit, to be emptied at a later time. Finally, the clean air is returned to the room.

As you can see Dust Collection Systems can create healthy air for a room quickly. This is especially important for jobs that generate a lot of dust, such as construction. Using Dust Collection Systems will recycle and clean the air, to help clean the air of dust, and insure the work environment is safe. Without Dust Collection Systems, the dust is usually removed from the air due to workers breathing it in. This can lead to serious health problems such as Asthma.

Dust Collection Systems can be portable, or permanently attached to a building. Larger units will filter higher volumes of air quicker, but take up much more space. For this reason, these large Dust Collection Systems are usually permanently mounted to the building they’re were build to clean. Smaller collection units can be portable, though, which comes in handy for jobs that require workers to work in many different areas. Portable units will take longer to clean the air, but are much smaller and take up less space. In most cases, these Dust Collection Systems will features a small vacuum that keeps air moving in the system. Instead of featuring a settling compartment, smaller machines will have bags to collect different particles of air. These bags must be emptied when the job is finished.

Dust collection systems will improve work environments by removing excess amounts of dust.
This creates a healthier working environment.
